The Pensthorpe Pebbles.

We were recently commissioned to design a mosaic for The Art and Sculpture Garden at Pensthorpe Nature Reserve in Norfolk. The design features the 5 conservation species at the reserve. The Eurasian Crane, Turtle Dove, Red Squirrel, Curlew and Corncrake.

Colour design drawing of Pensthorpe pebble mosaic.

The border is made up of cracked Burlington Slate and gradiating speckled grey and white pebbles, to represent water.

The centre is made up of a varied colour palette of natural quartzes with carved and cracked stone and slate details. We don’t yet have any photos of the mosaic in situ, but the sculpture garden is now open to visitors.
